On-site work

Show what has happened on site and what comes next.

Where customers lose visibility

A client may not be on site when important work is done.

Preparation, trades and inspections happen at different times. A client who sees no visible change during a visit may not know that materials arrived or concealed work was completed.

Weather, access and inspection timing can change the order of work. A single 'in progress' label does not explain the next dependency.

What a progress page changes

Show milestones without overpromising a schedule.

Use a private page for the job's current stage, timestamped site notes and relevant photos. The client can check what was completed and what is pending.

Adjust a project's stages when the sequence changes, preserving earlier updates. Estimated completion dates can be shown as estimates rather than guarantees.

A workflow you could start with

These are examples. You can rename, add, remove or reorder stages for each tracking without changing other jobs.

A renovation may need demolition and fit-out stages. A small installation may use fewer steps. Only show a stage as complete when its work is actually finished.

A useful customer update

The electrical rough-in is complete in the kitchen area. Wall closure is scheduled after the required inspection; we will update the page when that check is finished.

Document the dependency, not just the delay.

When weather, materials or an inspection affects the sequence, state what the team is waiting for and what work can continue. Trackroom is a client progress page; keep contracts, safety records, approvals and formal site documentation in their proper systems.

Questions from this kind of work

Can I change the sequence after a project begins?

Yes. Each project tracking has its own stages. Reordering or adding a step does not change your saved workflow or other projects.

Does Trackroom replace site reports or contracts?

No. Use it for a clear client-facing status. Formal site records, approvals and contractual communication stay in your established process.
